This Vampire is a stright out conversion of Roger Hardy's FSDSv1 FSC file to FSDS2 standards to include things such as reflective textures Not included, but enabled for those who whish to repaint with reflective textures), animated undercarraige suspension and 3D Gear bays for the undercarraige.
Apart from the above I have made very minimal changes to the original model, this is due to the quality of the original work. I have made substantial changes to the FDE (original included here), using the v2.82.35 1% spreadsheets (http://www.mudpond.us/ or http://www.avhistory.com/) --> MUST read "IMPORTANT ISSUES" below!!!!!
In keeping with the original that is available at www.freeflightdesign.com, i have included the FSDS2 source file for those who may want to take the aircraft futher that I am willing to do so - for example a DVC.
The Sounds and panel are alliased to the Lear 45, thus if you want an accurate panel and sounds you'll have to find them - I cannot make any reccomendations as of yet.
INSTALLATION:
To install the Meteor in FS2002 you can do the following:
1) Extract this archive to a temporary folder on you hard disk.
2) Copy/Move the "DH100 Vampire F3" folder to the aircraft folder of FS2002.
OR:
1) Extract this archive directly into the FS2002 AICRAFT folder.
To use the Source file you need to have purchased FS Design Studio Pro Version 2 (and have the v2.10 update or greater), and you need to copy/move the "Meteor F8c.fsc" file from this archive to the PROJECTS folder in FSDS2.
REPAINT NOTES:
1) Please do, there is no need to ask me for specific permission do so --> also see the notes in the original documentation folder within this archive.
IMPORTANT ISSUES:
1) There seems to be an issue of JET FDE's created by the v2.82.35 1% spreadsheets for FS2002 usage in that when the "AIRCRAFT STRESS CAUSES DAMAGE" setting in the aircraft realism menu is enabled --> it causes the aircraft to repeatedly crash. Thus, please DISABLE this setting. A fix for this when generated will be posted. Otherwise, if this causes you concern the original FDE is included here as an alternative.
